Benefits of working at Co-operative Web
Co-operative Web is a different kind of company: we are a worker co-operative. Being a worker co-operative basically means that the company is controlled by the workers, it means we make collective democratic decisions on the major things that affect us and we share in the profits when the company does well.
It also means that we try and make it the best place to work as possible. We are all (hopefully) approachable and nice people who you will enjoy working with in our relaxed office. If you have a problem or need some support (be it technical or otherwise) someone will always be available to lend a hand.
We think that work comes first when it needs to, but the rest of the time you have to have a bit of a life so we try and be as flexible as possible with how you do your hours and we are always open to suggestions on things that we can do to aid the quality of life for all the people who work here.
We have both a table football table, and an arcade machine in the office. You have to love the power of democracy!
Co-operative Web has an equal opportunities policy that is based on the principle that no element in a person's working life (e.g. recruitment, training, development, membership of the Co-operative or conditions of employment), should be influenced by considerations of sex, race, disability, marital status, religion or any other condition other than that person's suitability and that no-one is disadvantaged by conditions or requirements which cannot be shown to be justifiable. All employees will be recruited, trained and developed using fair and consistent criteria, related to the requirements of the job.
We are trying to do our bit to be a bit more ethical in the IT world. So if you are jaded by all of the other companies out there, why not give us a try...
