Job: Project Manager
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team on a permanent basis.
This is not an ‘admin’ management role but one which requires someone with a pro-active approach to problem solving, a sense of ownership & responsibility. On top of this you must have the ability to make productive relationships quickly. As such the role therefore demands a proven understanding of the development lifecycle and an ability to work closely with all our development staff to deliver quality solutions on time & budget.
A technical development background is essential – ideally within a web technology background.
Whilst CMS & bespoke development experience is desirable – it is more important to have an overall ‘rounded’ set of skills & experience, a passion for doing a fantastic job and the confidence & enthusiasm to see it through to a successful conclusion.
Responsibilities:
Take complete ownership of project delivery, understanding the impacts and always be pro-active
To produce & maintain delivery schedules, monitor overall progress, understand and anticipate dependencies & risks and take prompt corrective action
Management of multiple concurrent releases in different stages of development including the usual conflicts of time and resource
Build and maintain productive relationships with key customer project & delivery contacts
Build and maintain productive relationships with the development team based on technical understanding not position
Work closely with the customer to define initial delivery schedules and work through them together to a successful delivery
Manage all changes to the project’s agreed baseline
Produce of commercial estimates for change/change requests
Gain an in depth functional understanding of the systems under development
Skills Required:
Ability to use MS office tools effectively
Proven communication skills (presentational, written, verbal)
Possess the presence and drive to impress the customer and guide them towards solutions which will meet both Co-operative Web's and their customer’s business objectives
Solving problems in a commercially beneficial way
Excellent internal & external relationship management
Thoroughness & attention to detail
Excellent planning, organisational & task management skills
Excellent decision making, influencing & negotiation skills
Track record of successful project delivery
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key customer delivery contacts
Ability to establish and maintain productive relationships with the development team
Demonstrable identification and management of risks & issues
Understanding of the importance of customer perception and how to manage it
Technical development background - preferably in web technologies

Flexibility in role, approach and skills
Willingness to travel and work on customer sites as required
Someone who takes complete ownership & responsibility of their tasks and is completely committed
